KUNSTACADEMIE FRIESLAND, 2023

At the beginning of the year 2023, I gave a wonderful workshop at the Kunstacademie Friesland in Leeuwarden, about the aspects of filmmaking, stop-motion, and animation. From the beginning of the film to the end – the teenagers were very creative in their approach and storyboards. The workshop was called Behind The Scenes: we learned to use different film techniques inspired by famous directors and artists like Kuleshov, Hitchcock, Nauman, Rist, Tarkovsky – and many more.

STICHTING DE VROLIJKHEID, 2021

In September, I started working at Stichting De Vrolijkheid, in the asylum seekers’ center in Drachten.
As a workshop supervisor, I wanted to introduce the children to film, its techniques, and the meaning of the movement of objects.
After months of experimenting with film, the time had finally come.
Thanks to the children of the asylum seekers’ center in Drachten, I created a small video montage at Stichting De Vrolijkheid. The film projection was shown in the open air to the residents during this festive evening of the 11th of November – one to never forget.
Hopefully, many more films will come.
